2.2.1 Overview

A full rail planning system is included in TOPS. In the instance where the rail planning is an on-dock operation, the rail planning component of the system runs on the same database as the marine terminal operation. Where the rail management is a pure rail depot, the system runs on its own database structure. This allows for flexibility in the system to run either stand-alone or as a combined marine/rail terminal operation. The system is completely graphical and RDT’s are also supported by the EC system component.
