3. Foundation System (TOPO)
3.3 Vessel Management
The Vessel processing is totally integrated in TopS performed both in the foundation and graphical systems.
Prior to a vessel's arrival the vessel schedule is created in the foundation system before it is passed to the
graphical system. The graphical system processes the vessel in real-time while the foundation system has many
functions for processing the vessel's history.
Functions:
- Record master list of vessels
- Setup vessel schedules
- View history of vessel schedules
- View vessel productivity for a period of time
- Load Movins to TopS
- Load Baplie data to TopS
- Setup vessel services and ports of call
- Setup list of liners operating on a vessel schedule
- Setup ports of call for a liner on a vessel service or schedule
- Setup discharge port based on liner, service and final discharge port
- Record hatch cover moves
- Vessel schedules moved to history after processing completed
- View exports booked for a vessel
- View containers reported as imports for a vessel

The marine terminal operation was documented to produce a marine terminal system from which the marine
terminal software was developed.
3.4 Rail Management
The Rail processing is totally integrated in TopS performed both in the foundation and graphical systems.
Prior to a train's arrival, the train consist is received and processed in the foundation system before it is
passed to the graphical system where the planning of the unloading is carried out. Following the planning the
actual unloading of the train using the wireless system. Outbound trains are also processed in both the
foundation and graphical systems.

- Setup weekly train schedules
- Record and modify train visits
- Record the receival of a train
- View list of wagons on a train
- View train consist for an inbound train
- View wagon inventory in the terminal

The rail terminal operation was documented to produce a rail terminal system from which the rail terminal
software was developed.
The intermodal terminal operation was documented to produce an intermodal terminal system from which the
intermodal terminal software was developed. The intermodal functionality closely matches the inland terminal
operation and resulting inland terminal system and inland terminal software.
